Olive leaf extract Review

Olive leaf extract is a supplement derive from the leaves of olive plant, and is distinct from Olive oil. It contains phenolics such as oleuropein which appears to have highly protective effects against LDL oxidation and may benefit glucose metabolism and skin health. This may be attributed to the anti-inflammatory effects of hydroxytyrosol. Olive leaf extract appears to be a beneficial treatment for certain conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, and artherosclerosis. Some poeple also regard Olive leaf extract to be a diuretic, hypotensive, emollient, febrifuge and tonic, for urinary and bladder infections and for headaches. However, further researches and clinical studies should still be conducted with Olive leaf extract regarding its mechanism of action in the treatment of certain diseases.
